What Cortisol Does at Night
And why the 3am wake-up is not random.

Cortisol is supposed to be at its lowest around midnight and rise gently toward morning. In a stressed body, the curve flattens, then spikes — often around 3am.
If you wake at 3am, mind racing, body wired, this is what is happening.
What helps.
